What Are Ball Valves

First, they are called floating valves, also known as shutoff valves, precisely because of the movement that the free ball in its seat can perform, in fact it is pushed by pressure against the sealing gasket, and the higher the pressure, the more perfect the seal.

In addition, The valve seat design and valve body seals ensure high durability and most importantly, sealing over time.

Why Ball Valves Are Useful

There are construction tricks that make them strongly safe and used even in harsh environments and very high temperatures because they are built with safety systems such as "fire safe design."

Even if the seal should fail, the metal seat takes over accordingly, which holds the ball inside while also giving the eventual possibility of bringing the valve to a safe position before intervening with maintenance or replacement procedures.

Where They Can Be Installed

In process controls for a multitude of applications and uses and are used in all industries, especially in oil & gas, chemical & petrochemical, power generation, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, food&beverage. Wherever fluids and gases of various types and nature need to be handled.

Standard ZEMA valves, are full passage valves, this means that there is virtually no pressure drop when the valve is fully open.

Normal operating temperatures with standard seals and materials range depending on pressure from -45°C to +210°C. They can reach by inserting different seals considerably more critical temperatures such as -196°C or +430°C.

The modular design of the one-piece valves also allows for different configurations. ZEMA manufactures ball valves of several models, which you will find immediately following this section with specifications and reference images.

They can be actuated by hand lever as well as by electric, pneumatic single- or double-acting, rotary or linear actuators, with systems chosen according to the need and use of the valve application itself.

All ball valves are certified to PED 2014/68/EU and ATEX 2014/34/EU.

First of all, the production system that is used internally is in "Industry 4.0" and we are ISO 9001 certified for corporate quality.

The beginning starts with the arrival of materials that undergo quality and dimensional checks and then move to production where we find a fleet of machines that is always up-to-date and highly technological. Inspection and Testing Ball Valves

All production is carried out within our factories, which is why we have a quality control department with qualified personnel who follow production from the arrival of the material to the last operation that takes place on our CNC machines.

Valves are 100% tested, testing takes place in a dedicated room with certified and rigorous procedures.

ZEMA valves can be equipped and implemented with different types of accessories.

The entire line of one-piece floating ball valves can be supplied bare stem or with ISO 5211 phorometry so that they can be automated with single- and double-acting pneumatic actuators, electric, hydraulic or linear pneumatic actuators and limit switch boxes.

End-of-stroke boxes with mechanical or automatic signaling and micros can be applied.
As manual levers in addition to the classic ones, they can be had with padlockable locks.
